International oceania indies reporter Internship

The International Oceania Reporter Intern will cover international content focused on the non-Spanish-speaking nations in the region as their regular beat for Modern Treatise.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the geopolitics of Oceania.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the nuances of domestic/national politics across Oceania.

The candidate must be able to look at geopolitical subject matters from multiple perspectives.

The candidate must be adept at relying on fact-based evidence rather than political or activist wish-thinking.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the ever-shifting state of the economy or economies of the Oceania region.

Responsibilities:

  • Write a weekly column covering the social, economic, and political topics related to Oceania from a West Indies perspective.

  • Special region-related coverage.

Duration: 6 months

This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience. 

Official Start Date: ASAP

Note: Metro New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Chicago residents are strongly encouraged to apply, but location is not required.
